2025 NCHA Futurity Sales: 2-Year-Olds Session and Short Sessions of Trained Cutting Horses and 3-Year-Olds (Nov 30–Dec 2), an article published on StallionCompare.com.

The 2025 NCHA Futurity Sales, held from November 30 to December 6, opened with three exciting days featuring the 2-Year-Olds Session and the Short Session for Trained Cutting Horses & 3-Year-Olds. These early sessions showcased exceptional prospects, strong pedigrees, and high engagement from buyers. From the first lot, the atmosphere in the sale ring was lively and enthusiastic.

Top Seller of the Session

One filly stood out as the top seller across the combined sessions, attracting significant interest due to her pedigree, conformation, and potential for competition.

The top seller was Carbonated, a February 20, 2023 Blue Roan Filly, consigned by Sherrerd Performance Horses and represented by agent Randy Vanee and was sold for $775,000. Carbonated is by Hashtags (2013), an NCHA Open World Champion with $485,293 in earnings and a record of producing 305 money-earners totaling over $5.1 million. Her dam, Miss Priss Pepto, by Peptoboonsmal, earned $111,241 with highlights including Arbuckle Mountain 4-Year-Old Open Futurity Reserve Champion and Brazos Bash Non-Pro Derby Reserve Champion. She has produced 14 AQHA foals aged 3 and older, with 8 money-earners totaling $241,440. Notable offspring include Faymiss ($107,319) and What Ifs ($71,816). Carbonated’s maternal granddam, Prissie Cat, earned $46,139 and produced four money-earners, while her great-granddam, RSK Dinahs Prissie, produced six money-earners including The Silver Spoon ($238,235).

Currently in training with Sherrerd Performance Horses and nominated to the NCHA Futurity, with proven bloodlines and careful early training, she represents a promising prospect for future competitions.

Every Dam Counted

Just as sires shape the potential of cutting horses, the dams bring an equally vital influence — athleticism, temperament, and the intangible spark that often sets a horse apart in the show pen. The first three days of the 2025 NCHA Futurity Sale showcased mares whose offspring carried not only strong pedigrees but also the promise of future success. Each dam represented a lineage of care, training, and performance, making them as integral to the story of the sale as the sires themselves.
