From February 28 to March 1, 2026, Platinum Horse Sales hosted its February Consignment Sale, presenting a thoughtfully selected group of performance horses, prospects, and breeding opportunities. Though modest in size, the sale reflected the care, dedication, and horsemanship behind every horse offered.
The event was organized into three distinct consignment portions, each highlighting horses from respected programs within the industry. The first portion featured Exclusive Equine consignments, with Lots 51 through 54 representing prospects connected to the program’s breeding and training efforts. The second portion presented CEP Consignments, which included Lots 101 through 103, offering buyers additional well-bred prospects from another established source. The final portion highlighted the Featured Consignment, with Lot 201 serving as the spotlight entry of the sale.
Together, these consignments brought variety and depth to the catalog while keeping the sale’s focus firmly on quality horses.
Horsemen and horsewomen gathered with a shared appreciation for well-bred horses, strong pedigrees, and the horsemanship that brings them along. The event highlighted a group of horses prepared with attention and pride, each representing the work of breeders, trainers, and consignors who value the future of the sport.
The result was a sale where every horse found its place, reinforcing that when the right horses are brought together, they naturally find the right homes.
Headlining the Sale
Among the horses presented during the event, Hip 205, Talkin Sally Rey, emerged as the top-selling horse of the 2026 February Consignment Sale.
The 2017 sorrel mare is sired by Smooth Talkin Style and out of RW Sally Rey, with Dual Rey as her damsire—bringing together two highly respected bloodlines in the cutting horse world.
Her sire, Smooth Talkin Style, is a celebrated cutting stallion and the 2015 NCHA Futurity Champion, earning more than $300,000 in competition. He has since become known as a leading sire of talented cutting and cow horse prospects.
On the maternal side, Dual Rey, one of the most influential sires in modern cutting horse history, earned more than $105,000 in NCHA competition and went on to sire earners of over $45 million. His offspring have consistently excelled at the highest levels of the sport.
With such a powerful pedigree combining proven performance and influential bloodlines, Talkin Sally Rey drew strong interest during the sale. By the close of bidding, she sold for $60,000, securing the highest price of the event.
