A Certain Vino (2003–2025)
In Loving Memory of A Certain Vino (2003–2025)

15x AQHA World Champion • 29x Congress Champion • 33x NSBA World Champion

It is with profound sadness and immense respect that we announce the passing of one of the greatest Quarter Horses the industry has ever known: A Certain Vino. Affectionately known as "Vino," he was laid to rest in 2025 after a long and remarkable life that changed the course of western pleasure history.

Bred for greatness and destined for legend status, Vino captivated the show pen from his earliest moments. Crowned the High Point Non-Pro Longe Line Horse in 2004, he went on to become the 2008 NSBA Horse of the Year, earning over $500,000 in lifetime earnings and securing his place as the highest NSBA money earner of all time with over $193,000 in NSBA earnings alone.

Vino’s career was paved in gold: 15 AQHA World Championships (14 in Western Pleasure, one in Amateur Western Riding), 29 Congress Championships, 33 NSBA World Championships, titles as Congress All-Around Amateur and Open Horse, Reserve Super Horse, and AQHA World Reserve All-Around Amateur.

More than his record-breaking accomplishments, Vino was a cornerstone in the lives of those who loved him. Owned and adored by Darcy Reeve and family, Vino wasn’t just a show horse—he was a life-changer. He opened doors, built lifelong friendships, and taught those around him how to work hard, dream big, and lead with heart.

Since his retirement in 2016, Vino enjoyed peaceful years at Roberts Quarter Horses, where he was treasured and cared for in the highest regard. We extend our heartfelt thanks to their team for giving Vino the retirement he so richly deserved, and for guiding him across the rainbow bridge when the time came.

To know A Certain Vino was to witness brilliance—and to lose him is to feel the absence of a light that can never truly be replaced. He was, and always will be, the standard by which western pleasure is measured.

Godspeed, Vino. You were one in a billion. Thank you for the memories, the victories, and the legacy that will live forever.
