Boon Too Suen (2005–2026)

Some horses earn championships. A select few reshape an entire breed.

The Western performance horse industry is mourning the loss of Boon Too Suen, a stallion whose name became synonymous with excellence in the cutting horse world and whose influence will continue to be felt for generations yet to come.

Foaled in 2005, the striking sorrel son of Peptoboonsmal and the legendary Meradas Little Sue arrived with one of the most celebrated pedigrees in the industry. His dam was a three-time NCHA World Champion, NCHA Horse of the Year, Hall of Fame mare, and one of the sport’s greatest producers.

Boon Too Suen not only lived up to those expectations, he forged a legacy entirely his own. An earner of more than $263,000, Boon Too Suen captured the title of 2010 NCHA Open World Champion Stallion, along with numerous major derby, classic, and aged-event championships throughout an exceptional performance career. His athleticism, intensity, and unmistakable presence made him one of the most respected competitors of his generation.

Yet it was as a sire that Boon Too Suen forever changed the landscape of the industry. His sons and daughters carried his unmistakable heart, cow sense, and grit into arenas across North America, amassing more than $7.2 million in offspring earnings, producing multiple World Champions and hundreds of money-earners across cutting, reined cow horse, ranch horse, and roping events. Breeders sought him not only for his remarkable pedigree, but for the consistency with which he stamped his foals with intelligence, athletic ability, and an unwavering desire to work.

Owned by Creek Plantation and standing in recent years at the historic 6666 Ranch, Boon Too Suen found a home among horsemen who deeply appreciated both his accomplishments and his character. Those fortunate enough to know him spoke not only of his production record, but of the quality horse he was to handle each day. He represented everything breeders hope for in a stallion: talent, soundness, honesty, and the ability to elevate every generation that followed.

As William S. Morris V aptly reflected, his greatest influence may still be unfolding through his daughters as exceptional broodmares, ensuring that the qualities which made Boon Too Suen extraordinary will continue to shape the breed well into the future. While the passing of a horse of this magnitude marks the end of an incredible chapter, it is far from the end of his story.

Every champion he sired. Every young horse carrying his blood. Every breeder who chose him in pursuit of something special. They are all part of the remarkable legacy he leaves behind.

From all of us at StallionCompare, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Creek Plantation, the team at 6666 Ranch, and the countless owners, breeders, trainers, riders, and admirers whose lives were touched by this exceptional stallion.

Rest easy, Boon Too Suen. Your accomplishments earned the world’s respect, but it is the generations you created that will ensure your name is never forgotten. Few stallions truly change a breed. You were one of them.
