Brandys Silver Sheik (2000–2025)

Masterson Farms has shared the sad news that Brandys Silver Sheik was humanely euthanised due to complications of advanced age. Foaled in 2000, the elegant grey mare by Zippos Sheik and out of Brandys Gold Finger became a cornerstone of the Masterson breeding programme and one of its most beloved residents.

Bred exclusively to RL Best Of Sudden, Brandy produced a dynasty: multiple World and Congress champions with progeny earnings surpassing $310,000. Her most celebrated daughter, Snap Krackle Pop, was the AQHA Superhorse in 2015 and 2016 and later became the dam of the 2021 AQHA Superhorse, Snap It Send It, along with multiple World and Congress champions. Other notable offspring include KM Brandy Girl, Catch Twenty Two, Snap It Best, and Tootsee Roll — each a testament to Brandy’s consistency, quality, and prepotency.

Beyond the record books, Brandy was family. “Brandy was a fixture at our farm given her sweetness and affinity for people. She loved her people and she will always be missed,” shared Ken Masterson—a fitting tribute to a mare whose kind eye and steady presence touched everyone who cared for her.

To Ken and Marilyn Masterson and the entire Masterson Farms team, we extend our deepest condolences. Brandys Silver Sheik leaves a powerful legacy—written in banners, bloodlines, and the many people who loved her. May her influence continue to shine through the generations she’s given the industry.
