Brindis Por Cayenne (2003–2025)

We are saddened to share the passing of Brindis Por Cayenne, the remarkable 2003 sorrel stallion whose speed, versatility, and influence left a lasting mark on both the racetrack and the ranch.

With a Speed Index of 105 and $453,674 in earnings, Brindis proved himself early as a fierce competitor. His accomplishments included wins in the Sunland Park Winter Derby [G2] and the Texas Horse Racing Hall of Fame Stakes [G3], as well as top placings in the Texas Classic Derby [G1], Canada Championship Challenge [G1], and the prestigious All American Futurity [G1]. A Superior Race Horse and Race ROM earner, he captured 9 wins, 7 seconds, and 5 thirds across his career, racing successfully from ages 2 through 7.

Beyond the track, Brindis was known for his intelligence and willingness. He carried the same grit he showed in competition to working cattle and life on the ranch, showcasing the mind and athleticism that defined him.

As a sire, Brindis’ legacy shines even brighter. His progeny have earned over $1,005,553, with 10 stakes winners achieving 24 stakes victories. An impressive 74.5% of his starters earned their Race Register of Merit, and his foals averaged nearly $20,000 per earner. Brindis stood as the leading Wyoming-Bred Stallion for six consecutive years, a testament to the consistency and quality of his offspring.

Brindis Por Cayenne’s influence will continue for years to come through the bloodlines he’s left behind—horses bred not only for speed, but for heart, try, and a solid working mind. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in every stride of the champions he produced.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Shining C Stallion Station, his connections, admirers, and all those who believed in the remarkable sorrel stallion with the fire of competition and the heart of a true ranch horse.
