The reining world is mourning the unexpected departure of the iconic NRHA Hall of Fame Mare, Wimpys Little Chic, affectionately known as "Lexi." Her stellar show record, coupled with her esteemed position as a National Reining Horse Association Triple Crown champion and No. 1 all-time leading dam of reining horses, marks the end of a truly remarkable era. The Arcese family, in collaboration with the renowned trainer Shawn Flarida and manager Jeff Oswood, expresses their profound grief over the loss of this extraordinary mare.
According to the Arcese family, "Lexi wasn't just an exceptional athlete; she was a cherished member of our family. Her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts, and we will forever treasure the memories and the legacy she leaves behind."
Trainer Shawn Flarida reflects on his deep connection with Lexi, stating, "Lexi was an exceptional mare, and having the privilege of working with her was truly incredible. Her unmatched drive and talent took us to heights beyond compare, and she will always hold a special place in my heart."
Manager Jeff Oswood emphasizes Lexi's profound impact on the reining world, stating, "Lexi's contributions as a producer and her stellar show record have left an indelible mark. Her passing is a tremendous loss for all of us who were touched by her presence."
Lexi, a stunning 2004 palomino mare, not only showcased exceptional athleticism but also proved to be an extraordinary producer. Sired by Wimpys Little Step and out of Colleena Chic Olena, Lexi's bloodlines and career epitomize excellence. Accumulating earnings of $516,556 and producing four NRHA Open Futurity champions, she leaves behind an enduring legacy of greatness. Her offspring, collectively earning an impressive $1,964,258, continue to contribute to the reining community, each making their mark with exceptional talent and achievements.
Lexi's undeniable talent and unrivaled work ethic propelled her to become the leading money-earning mare, consistently outperforming her rivals and capturing the hearts of spectators. She peacefully departed this world at her home in Weatherford, Texas, surrounded by the love and care provided by the Arcese family, who purchased her as a promising 3-year-old filly, and the dedicated staff at Oswood Stallion Station.
The loss of Lexi extends beyond her immediate connections, resonating throughout the reining community. Her extraordinary talent, remarkable show record, and substantial contributions to the reining world will forever be etched in its history.
The Arcese family, trainer Shawn Flarida, and manager Jeff Oswood extend heartfelt gratitude to the reining community for the overwhelming support during this difficult time. While Lexi's physical presence will be greatly missed, her lasting legacy and impact on the world of reining will continue to inspire and resonate for years to come.
