With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of the legendary stallion, Certain Potential, who recently passed away while enjoying his retirement at the University of Florida Equine Science Program.
Certain Potential, born in 1996, leaves behind a legacy as one of the most influential sires of his time. Sired by Potential Investment and out of the renowned Miss Surely Bars, this beautiful bay stallion made an indelible mark in the equine world.
Throughout his esteemed career, Certain Potential sired 857 foals, collectively earning over $2.6 million and accumulating more than 56,381 AQHA points. His offspring boasted an impressive record, with 22 AQHA World Championships and 12 AQHA Reserve World Championships among their accolades.
Among Certain Potential's most notable progeny is A Certain Vino, whose remarkable achievements include over $400,000 in earnings, 1,643 AQHA Points, and numerous world championships across various competitions.
Additionally, Certain Potential's influence extended to his daughters, who became outstanding broodmares in their own right. Notably, A Certain Illusion emerged as a prolific producer, leaving an indelible mark on the industry as the dam of several exceptional horses.
In his retirement, Certain Potential found joy and companionship at the University of Florida Equine Science Program, where he endeared himself to students and staff alike with his gentle demeanor and undeniable charm. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
