It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of the exceptional stallion FG Born Legacy, a powerful and gentle soul whose presence left an indelible mark on the halter horse world. Foaled in 2016, this striking 16-hand buckskin Quarter Horse stallion was sired by FG A Tru Fella and out of the Execute daughter, I Execute Class. Bred by the legendary Fossil Gate Farms, Legacy carried with him the unmistakable hallmarks of greatness—substance, presence, and heart.
Legacy was more than just a show horse or breeding stallion. He was the kind that stopped people in their tracks, not just because of his conformation and color, but because of the quiet dignity he carried with him. His eyes were soft, curious, and kind—traits that earned him admiration from judges, breeders, and fans alike.
Over the course of his career, Legacy earned:
- $9,480 in Lifetime Earnings
- 2020 AQHA World Champion Open Aged Stallion
- 2018 AQHA World Show, 4th in Open 2-Year-Old Stallions
- 2018 Breeders Halter Futurity Champion – 2-Year-Old Stallions
- 11.5 AQHA Halter Points
Under the care and ownership of Smith Dewey Quarter Horses, Legacy matured into a cornerstone of their program. He not only delivered in the show ring but left behind a legacy through his foals—each stamped with his signature look and undeniable class. His influence will continue in the barn through his offspring, who will now carry the torch forward.
The suddenness of his passing on April 21, 2025, has left an undeniable void in the hearts of his owners and fans. As Smith Dewey Quarter Horses so eloquently said, “Legacy, you were so much more than just a breeding horse—you were strength, beauty, and spirit all wrapped into one powerful soul. You gave us unforgettable moments, beautiful offspring, and a legacy that will live on far beyond today.”
We extend our deepest condolences to Smith Dewey Quarter Horses and all who knew and loved FG Born Legacy. He was truly one of a kind—a once-in-a-lifetime horse. May he run free now, his legacy forever etched in halter horse history.
