Our hearts go out to Troy Compton and all of Hot Impulse's storied connections as we hear of his passing yesterday at his home in Purcell, OK. Hot Impulse, or "Webster" as he was fondly known by those closest to him was a World Champion himself and a World Champion sire. Webster sired a legacy over his 17-year breeding career, siring 224 AQHA foals, over 50% of them with performance records of their own. His foals have shown their rideability and quality, having earned over 22,000 AQHA points in Amateur, Open, and Youth divisions. Webster's foals have also won 20 AQHA World & Reserve World Champion titles with lifetime earnings of over $169,000+ in the AQHA Incentive Fund, $99,000+ earnings at AQHA World Show, and $437,000+ in earnings from the National Snaffle Bit Association.
Webster leaves a legacy of greatness behind him, which will be felt for years to come.
Rest easy, Webster.
