2020 – 2025
Some horses step into our lives and quietly change everything. For Madalynn Redline, that horse was a bright-eyed sorrel mare affectionately known as “Polly” (Isnt Shee Something).
Born in 2020, Polly carried the pedigree of great Western horses, sired by Open For Suggestion and out of Satin Moonlight, a daughter of Only In The Moonlite. But it was never just her bloodlines that made her remarkable. Polly had a generous heart, a willing mind, and a way of meeting Madalynn in the middle every time they stepped into the arena together.
This year marked an important milestone for the pair. Madalynn and Polly finished 14th overall in the highly competitive L2 Western Pleasure at the AQHA Youth World Show — an achievement that reflected not only talent, but the countless hours of quiet work, trust, and partnership that defined their bond. It was proof that Polly was becoming exactly what everyone believed she could be: a true show horse with a heart for her rider and a future filled with promise.
Polly was more than a competitor — she was Madalynn’s partner and her confidant. She showed up every day with quiet consistency and a soft eye, offering her very best whether they were schooling at home or preparing to walk through the in-gate. Rarely a day sick in her life, she carried herself with the kind of soundness and kindness that made everyone believe there would be many, many years ahead for the pair.
On November 22, 2025, everything changed. Polly colicked suddenly and, despite aggressive medical treatment, was rushed to Littleton Equine Medical Center. When her condition worsened, she was taken into emergency surgery, but heartbreakingly, she did not make it through. In the span of a night, a bright future became a treasured memory.
Madalynn’s heart is broken. Their time together was far too short, and there was still so much to learn, so many patterns left to ride, so many quiet moments at the barn now etched only in memory. Polly leaves behind not just a grieving owner, but a circle of people who loved and believed in her.
With deep gratitude, Madalynn thanks Dr. Quam and the entire team at Littleton Equine Medical Center for everything they did for Polly in her final hours. She also extends heartfelt thanks to her trainers, Brea and Marc Pile, for loving Polly and believing in her exactly as she did. Their support, care, and guidance built not just a competitor, but a family around this special mare.
Isnt Shee Something may not have had decades to build a long show record, but in the few short years she had, she left an imprint that cannot be measured in points or prizes. She taught trust, courage, and joy in the simple act of swinging a leg over a good horse. She reminded everyone how lucky we are to share our lives with these generous animals — even when the time is much too short.
In honour of Polly, Madalynn hopes others hold their horses a little closer tonight — one more quiet moment, one more hand on a warm neck, one more whisper of thanks. If love alone could have saved her, Polly would still be here.
Run free, sweet Polly. You were, and always will be, something truly special. 🧡🐴
