The equine community mourns the loss of Moonlit Rumors, affectionately known as Celeste, a mare whose influence as both a show horse and a producer will continue to shine through her remarkable offspring. Owned and deeply loved by Dr. Christa L Fry Bragg, Celeste was recently laid to rest, leaving behind a legacy that has already touched the Western Pleasure world in meaningful ways.
Moonlit Rumors proved herself not only as a daughter of the legendary Radical Rumors, but as a producer of champions in her own right. Among her foals, she proudly produced:
- Champion: Limited Open 3 & Over Maiden Western Pleasure
- Bronze Champion: Back To Berrien Futurity 3-Year-Old Limited Open WP
- Bronze Champion: NSBA 3-Year-Old Limited Open Western Pleasure
- Bronze Champion: 3-Year-Old Non Pro Western Pleasure
- Reserve Champion: NSBA 3-Year-Old Limited Open Horse
One of her most celebrated offspring, Lopin So Radical, continued her winning tradition, being named an NSBA Bronze World Champion alongside numerous other accolades in the past year.
For Dr. Bragg and her family, Celeste represented far more than ribbons and titles. She was their first-ever World Champion Bronze Producing Mare, a cornerstone of their program and a mare who brought immense pride and joy to all who had the privilege of being part of her journey. In a heartfelt tribute, Dr. Bragg expressed deep gratitude to the veterinarians, staff, and caretakers who lovingly attended to Celeste in her final months.
Although her time here was too short, Celeste’s story is far from over. She leaves behind two upcoming foals due in 2026, along with multiple frozen embryos that will ensure her influence carries on for years to come. Her strength, elegance, and producing power will live on in future generations, forever echoing the greatness of her bloodline.
Moonlit Rumors will be remembered not just as a daughter of greatness, but as a great one herself. Our thoughts are with Dr. Christa L Fry Bragg and all who cherished Celeste during this difficult time.
