With heavy hearts, we honour the life of My Factors Sexy, lovingly known as “Demi” – a beautiful mare who was laid to rest far too soon.
For her owner, Savannah Hunziker, Demi was everything you hope a horse can be: kind, elegant, and genuinely happy – the type of mare whose presence brightens a barn and whose absence is felt in the quiet moments that follow. Savannah shared that Demi “deserved a better hand of cards,” yet she fought like hell through what she was dealt, meeting each day with the same gentle spirit that made so many people love her.
In the months leading up to her passing, Savannah expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Gonzalez for keeping Demi comfortable and giving them the gift of more time – time to love her a little longer, and to hold onto the hope that good horses always inspire.
Though Demi’s time in the show pen was limited, it was meaningful. Savannah shared how grateful she was for every opportunity she had to show her – and how much she will miss seeing Demi’s bright, beautiful face at the barn each day.
Some mares leave behind more than memories – they leave behind a standard of sweetness, bravery, and quiet grace that can’t be replaced.
Rest easy, Demi – you were deeply loved.
