Paddys Irish Whiskey (1991–2026)

The Western performance horse industry joins the Four Sixes Ranch in honouring the extraordinary life of Paddys Irish Whiskey, a stallion whose influence will continue to shape the American Quarter Horse for generations to come.

At 35 years old, Paddy lived the kind of long, well-cared-for life that speaks not only to his own heart and constitution, but to the deep respect and stewardship of the people who surrounded him. He was a horse cherished for who he was, celebrated for what he produced, and remembered as one of the most influential sires in the history of the Four Sixes Ranch.

Foaled in 1991, Paddys Irish Whiskey was a bay son of Peppy San Badger and Docs Starlight, carrying some of the most proven cow horse blood in the breed. He earned respect as an NCHA money-earner, but it was as a sire and broodmare sire that his name became truly enduring.

His offspring proved themselves across cutting, reined cow horse, ranch horse, reining, roping, and versatility competition, earning more than $1.8 million, over 5,400 AQHA points, and numerous World and Reserve World Championships. Through his daughters, his influence became even deeper, with earners of more than $3.7 million carrying forward his strength as a broodmare sire.

For more than 20 years, Paddy stood at the Four Sixes Ranch, where his impact reached far beyond the show pen. He helped build championship pedigrees, dependable ranch horses, family horses, and exceptional broodmares. He became a standard for quality, versatility, conformation, and the kind of useful, enduring horse that represents the very best of the American Quarter Horse.

A horse like Paddy does not simply leave a record. He leaves a legacy written across ranches, arenas, breeding programs, and generations of horses who carry his name forward.

From all of us at StallionCompare, we extend our sincere condolences to the Paddys Irish Whiskey Syndicate, the Four Sixes Ranch, and every breeder, owner, rider, and fan who admired him throughout his remarkable life.

Rest easy, Paddy. What a gift it was to have you here for so long — and what a legacy you leave behind.
