See My Shiny Hiney (2005–2025)

In Loving Memory of See My Shiny Hiney

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to a truly remarkable show gelding, See My Shiny Hiney — known and loved by many simply as “Jack.” A once-in-a-lifetime horse, Jack was more than a champion in the arena. He was a teacher, a partner, a friend, and for those who loved him, he was family.

Under the care and guidance of Shelley Grissom, Jack made a profound impact on the lives of so many, including Megan Vanderslice and Lucy Lewis, who were given the extraordinary gift of a year with him in 2020. That time became a defining chapter — a season of growth, friendship, and dreams come true.

Jack helped Lucy and Megan prove that heart, determination, and a little bit of sparkle can carry you all the way to the top. In a class of nearly 200 youth, it was Lucy and Jack left standing at the end — a moment that symbolized everything this incredible horse stood for: try, trust, and triumph.

But beyond the ribbons and the rail, Jack gave something deeper — memories that will last a lifetime, quiet moments of connection, and the kind of life lessons only a horse with his heart could teach. He made everyone around him better, simply by being himself.

To Shelley, Megan, Lucy, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him: our hearts are with you. Thank you for sharing Jack’s journey with the world. His story is a testament to what it means to love a great horse — and be loved in return.

Rest easy, Jack. Your shine lives on in every life you touched. 💔
