We are saddened to share that The Born Legacy, affectionately known as Dutch, has passed away. A striking 2013 bay stallion by Good I Will Be out of Pretty Hot And Sonny (by Hot Pretense out of Sociable War Beauty), Dutch left an indelible mark on both the AQHA and APHA worlds through his talent, colour genetics, and influence as a sire.
In his show career, Dutch earned acclaim as a Congress Reserve Champion, an NSBA World Champion, and an AQHA Reserve World Champion, and he once held the title of AQHA High Point Stallion. Out of the arena, he made waves in the breeding barn and produced standout offspring such as Waffle House (out of BestSeatNTheHouse), who has been celebrated as one of the most decorated Western Pleasure horses in recent years.
His passing leaves a void in the industry, but his legacy lives on in every foal and every performance inspired by him. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Alexandra Chavez, Andrew Sharp, and all whose lives were touched by Dutch’s greatness. May his memory stir pride, admiration, and hope in the generations to come.
