It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Captain Barbossa, affectionately known as "Jack," a beloved stallion in the equestrian community. Captain Barbossa was a full brother to Roosters Wrangler and held great promise as Silver Spurs Equine's #1 prospect for the 2008 NRHA Futurity.
Despite facing adversity early in his career due to a tragic accident that cost him his right eye, Jack's resilience and determination shone through. Though his journey at the 2008 NURHA Futurity was cut short, he found success under the guidance of Silver Spurs' assistant trainer in the Rookie Professional and Limited Open Classes, earning $825 in NRHA competitions.
Captain Barbossa boasts an exceptional pedigree, being sired by NRHA 2 Million Dollar Sire, Gall del Cielo, and out of the esteemed mare, Hustlers Sugar, mother of Roosters Wrangler. His heritage, including AQHA Hall of Fame sire Peppy San Badger and Doc Bar, spoke volumes of his potential for greatness.
Jack's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his legacy of athleticism, talent, and unwavering spirit will endure. Our deepest condolences go out to Silver Spurs Equine Team and all who had the privilege of sharing in Jack's journey.
